To let go isn’t weakness—it’s choosing yourself.
There comes a point where holding on costs more than letting go.
Not just in time, but in energy, in values, and in the quiet weight we carry without even noticing.
When Values Become Heavy
I used to believe persistence was strength. That if I just tried harder, cared more, stayed longer, things would eventually shift.
But sometimes, even our best values can trap us.
When we live by loyalty, hope, compassion, and other beautiful qualities without remembering to include ourselves, those same values can wear us down. They can make us:
- Stay where we’ve already outgrown.
- Tolerate what quietly hurts.
- Forget that our needs matter too.
Letting Go is Not Giving Up
Letting go isn’t defeat. It’s remembering that your values should uplift you, not diminish you.
It’s choosing yourself, even when it’s uncomfortable.
The unknown is still scary. It can feel like standing at the edge of a forest at dusk, unsure of the path ahead. But it’s also full of possibility:
- New beginnings.
- Quiet healing.
- Unexpected joy.
Returning Home to Yourself
I’m learning that values aren’t just what we hold onto; they’re also what guide us back home to ourselves.
Choosing to honour your own needs, even when it feels unfamiliar, is sometimes the most powerful act of all.
If you’re standing at a crossroads — uncertain, scared, hopeful — maybe you’re exactly where you need to be.
Sometimes we all get ot a place – and we know deep down what the right thing to do is – but we just don’t it – and this is when it’s great to have a space to explore without judgement and pressure.
