Giving you the space to explore, process, and find yourself again.

Whether you’re carrying too much — burnout, caring responsibilities, questions of identity, neurodivergence, grief, trauma, stress, or simply the weight of overwhelm…

Whatever it looks like for you, this is a place to slow down and start making sense of it. Here, you won’t be asked to perform, fit into boxes, or tidy up your feelings. Therapy at Safe Spaces is grounded in lived experience: no pressure, no fixing — just clarity, compassion, and a chance to feel human again.

If you’re looking for something different — or past therapy didn’t get you — this is a space where:

  • You’re met where you are — not where a model says you should be.
  • No pressure to perform.
  • No need to tidy up your feelings.

Who’s Behind Safe Spaces Therapy?

I’m Charlie — a therapist who knows what it’s like to be on the other side of the screen as well as in the therapist’s chair.

Safe Spaces Therapy isn’t built on theory alone; it’s shaped by lived experience, resilience, and the understanding that life doesn’t always fit neatly into boxes.

I work with LGBTQ+ adults, neurodivergent individuals, carers, and anyone who needs space to work through life’s challenges — especially those who’ve often felt therapy didn’t “get them.” Here, you don’t have to translate yourself or fit into someone else’s model.

This is a space for real life — where you don’t need to explain everything before we begin. Your Safe Space Online.

Common Reasons People seek therapy

Everyone’s reasons for coming to therapy are different — and no issue is too small or unworthy of care.

Your experiences matter. I’m here to support you through them.

Below are some of the common threads people bring to this space.

Anxiety & Stress

Life can feel relentless. Whether it’s constant overthinking, physical tension, or that feeling of being on edge, anxiety and stress can quietly take over.

Therapy offers a space to pause, unpack what’s going on beneath the surface, and find calmer ground.

Grief & Loss

Loss can shake the ground beneath us — whether it’s the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or a life shift that leaves you grieving what was. Grief doesn’t follow a straight line, and there’s no “right” way to feel.

Therapy provides a compassionate space to honour what’s been lost, make sense of complex feelings, and find a way to carry your grief while still moving forward.

Self Exploration

You don’t need to be in crisis to come to therapy. Sometimes, it’s about getting to know yourself more deeply — understanding patterns, making intentional choices, or reconnecting with parts of yourself that feel hidden.

Therapy offers a supportive space to reflect, grow, and explore who you are beneath the surface of daily life.

Relationship Concerns

Whether it’s tension with a partner, family dynamics, friendship struggles, or patterns that keep repeating — relationships can be both our greatest source of connection and our deepest challenge.

Therapy offers a space to explore these dynamics, build awareness, and move towards healthier, more fulfilling connections.

Life Transitions

Change can feel disorienting — whether it’s a new job, a breakup, becoming a carer, leaving education, or simply outgrowing a version of yourself.

Therapy provides a steady space to process what’s shifting, honour what you’re leaving behind, and find clarity as you move forward.

Seeking Clarity

Sometimes it’s not about a crisis — just a sense that something feels off, or that you’re at a crossroads and unsure what’s next.

Therapy can help you pause, reflect, and reconnect with your own voice, values, and direction.

Burnout & Exhaustion

When you’ve been carrying too much for too long, burnout can creep in — leaving you drained, irritable, or emotionally flat. Whether it stems from work, caring roles, or just life’s ongoing demands, exhaustion can feel like a slow unravelling.

Therapy can help you reconnect with your needs, rebuild your energy, and explore new ways of coping that don’t cost your wellbeing.

Feeling stuck or numb

You might not know exactly what’s wrong — just that something’s off.

Whether it’s flatness, disconnection, or going through the motions, we’ll make sense of it together.

Identity & Self-Acceptance

You’ve spent years becoming who the world needed you to be.

Now it’s time to explore who you are — with no pressure to perform, and no need to explain.

Guilt, Shame & Self-Worth

These quiet weights shape how we see ourselves — and what we feel we’re allowed to want.

Therapy can help loosen those knots, so you can move through life more freely

A Safe Place

Sometimes it’s not about fixing a problem.

It’s about having somewhere you can breathe, reflect, and say things out loud — without judgement, without pressure.
