Creating a safe space; my approach
A practice that meets you where you are.
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s responsive, relational, and shaped by who you are and what you need.
You might be wondering: What makes this space different?
At Safe Spaces Therapy Online, it’s not about rigid models or one-size-fits-all approaches. It’s about creating a space that feels right for you—where you’re heard, supported, and met with real understanding.
Whether you’re navigating life’s challenges, seeking clarity, or simply needing a space to breathe, read how my approach is designed to support you.
Grounded in You
Therapy isn’t about ticking boxes — it’s about creating a space that reflects who you are, what you need, and where you are in your journey.
This practice is rooted in something called utilitarian pluralism: a flexible, responsive way of working that blends lived experience, formal training, and reflective practice. The goal isn’t to mould you — it’s to meet you.
Sessions might look different here. We shape the work together — online, audio-only, short-term, long-term — whatever supports your process. Whether you need momentum, pause points, or deeper grounding, there’s space to explore at your pace.
Safety, privacy, and ethics aren’t just policies — they’re foundations. With training in Mental Health First Aid and Suicide First Aid, and systems that prioritise confidentiality and data protection, this space is designed to hold what matters most: your wellbeing.
If you’re looking for a therapist who’s human first — but grounded in care, accountability, and experience — you’re in the right place.
Whether you prefer video or phone sessions, we’ll work with what feels most natural. It’s about comfort, clarity, and meeting you where you are.
The Core of safe Spaces Therapy Online
These three threads shape everything we do — from how sessions are structured to how we meet you as a person, not a label.

Person-Centred, Trauma-Informed
Draws primarily from person-centred therapy — it’s a way of working that treats you as the expert of your own life. It’s not about diagnosis or labels; it’s about listening, presence, and deep respect.
That’s paired with a trauma-informed lens, recognising how past experiences — especially those involving harm, loss, or overwhelm — can shape the nervous system and influence how we relate to others, to ourselves, and to the world.
Together, these approaches allow the work to unfold at your pace, in a way that honours your autonomy while creating gentle structure where needed.

Navigating Risk with Compassion
Risk can take many forms — from suicidal thoughts and self-harm to more subtle struggles like silence, withdrawal, or burnout.
What matters is how we face it. Therapy here offers a space to name risk honestly — not to punish or panic, but to explore what’s underneath it.
This approach blends lived understanding with professional training in Mental Health and Suicide First Aid, always aiming to meet risk with calm, care, and shared responsibility. Together, we can shine a light on what feels too heavy to carry alone.

Honouring Difference & Diversity
Inclusivity isn’t an add-on here — it’s built into the heart of the work.
As someone who is part of the LGBTQ+ community and neurodivergent, there’s deep understanding of how important it is to feel seen without explanation. This space welcomes people of all identities, backgrounds, and experiences.
Gender, sexuality, culture, neurodiversity, disability, life history — all of these shape the lens you see through. Therapy here holds that complexity, without trying to simplify or pathologise it. You don’t have to fit a mould to be held with respect.
At Safe Spaces Therapy Online, everything we do is designed with your safety in mind — from how we communicate to how we store your information.
Confidentiality, privacy, and ethical care aren’t just policies here — they’re the foundations of trust.
Connection & Structure
Online Working is at the core of Safe Spaces, and we’ve grown and adapted to offer you the support and structure.

Online Therapy That Works for You
Online therapy isn’t a lesser version — it’s a different kind of space. One that still offers connection, containment, and depth, just with new boundaries and possibilities.
Working online since the start of the pandemic, adapting my practice to meet clients wherever they are — at home, on the move, or in spaces where in-person support isn’t an option. Co-hosted and contributor to one of the UK’s first Online & Telephone Counselling training courses, I’ve helped shape how ethical, effective remote therapy is delivered.
Whether working by video, phone, or even in writing, I create a space that feels grounded, relational, and safe. It’s not just about the tech — it’s about how we use it to create connection that matters.

A Structure That Supports, Not Restricts
Some people like to know what to expect. Others want to flow with where life leads. Both are valid.
Therapy usually begins with a 6-session block — enough to get to know each other, explore what’s bringing you here, and build the beginnings of trust. On session six, we pause and review together: what’s shifted, what’s still unclear, and whether we continue.
From there, clients often choose between:
Block bookings (6 sessions at a reduced rate)
Pay-as-you-go sessions (offered weekly or flexibly)
Every 6 sessions, we review again. It’s a rhythm — not a rule. A chance to check in, realign, or decide to pause or end.
