This page is here to help you understand who I am, why I created Safe Spaces Therapy, and how my journey and experiences shape the space I offer. Whether you’re seeking support, exploring options, or just curious about the heart behind this practice — you’re in the right place.
You can read through everything below, or if you’d prefer, you can jump straight to a section that feels most relevant to you:
A journey to safe spaces
Personal Insights
Have you ever felt like traditional spaces just didn’t “get you”?
My path into counselling wasn’t through textbooks — it was through life.
Growing up, I navigated identity, loss, and mental health challenges. Supporting my father through depression and living my own neurodivergent experience taught me how deeply we all need to feel understood. Being part of the LGBTQ+ community has shaped my awareness of the diverse ways we process and experience life.
These personal experiences aren’t just stories — they’re the foundation of how I support you.

Professional Growth
I formalised my passion through professional training, completing qualifications via the CPCAB route and gaining hands-on NHS placement experience. My approach blends person-centred and solution-focused techniques, with trauma-informed practices that ensure our work is grounded, compassionate, and adaptive to your needs.
Alongside this foundation, I’ve continued to invest in ongoing development, building skills in areas such as online and telephone counselling, autism-informed practice, and working with trauma. This balance of structured learning and lived experience allows me to meet clients with both professional knowledge and human understanding.
For me, training is more than ticking boxes — it’s about learning how to create therapy that is flexible, ethical, and responsive.
Ethical Standards & Professional Membership
’Ethics aren’t just words on a page for me — they’re at the heart of how I work. Safe Spaces Therapy Online is built on values of respect, privacy, and doing what’s right for each client.
For example: I believe in your confidentiality and your privacy. That’s why I minimise the data I hold. Instead of contact forms that collect unnecessary details, I direct you to contact me via encrypted email. It’s a simple choice, but one that reflects my commitment to protecting you.
I’m also a proud member of two professional organisations:
- National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)
- Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO)
Belonging to these bodies means more than paying fees or using logos. They ensure I work to recognised ethical standards, stay accountable, and continually develop my practice. NCPS represents my broader commitment to counselling ethics, while ACTO reflects my specialist focus on safe, professional online therapy.
Together, these memberships show that when you choose Safe Spaces Therapy Online, you’re choosing a therapist who is accountable, values-led, and always working with your best interests at heart.
Community Work & Advocacy
I’ve always believed in the power of community to offer support, connection, and understanding. That’s why I’ve consistently invested time and energy in community outreach, events, and creating safe spaces — both online and offline.
As a Meta Certified Community Manager and part of Facebook’s Power Admins Global Program, I bring recognised skills, knowledge, and qualifications to my work in the digital world. This experience has given me valuable insight, deepened my acceptance of difference, and offered me a more global perspective.
This community-building work directly enhances my therapy practice, allowing me to foster belonging and understanding for clients who may otherwise feel isolated.
